Studio Ghibli Playing Cards

I chose to incorporate my love for Studio Ghibli into the design of these playing cards, drawing inspiration from their distinctive art style. Through this project, I was able to express my admiration for Studio Ghibli. Applying my own personal art style, each suit represents a different Studio Ghibli movie. During the design process, I remember contemplating minute choices, such as sharp versus rounded corners or border versus borderless backgrounds. As I progressed to the production phase, I was introduced to dielines for the first time. I learned about the fundamentals of bleed and the importance of leaving space for adhesive. I also learned how to transform a 2D dieline into a 3D digital mockup. 

This project holds a special place in my heart as it allowed me to indulge in the pure joy of creative exploration when designing, while also reminding me that there’s always something new to learn.
