TODAY With Hoda & Jenna

The TODAY Show loved the designs I created for them for their other segment, Read With Jenna, so I was asked to work with them again for Today With Hoda & Jenna. The team requested apparel that would appeal to their target audience. As I was not given much background or direction, I did my own research to understand their demographic. With permission to exercise my own creative freedom, I developed and produced a wide range of illustrations for the client to choose from. 

I hit an obstacle during the design process. The client wanted a pastel color palette but also wanted the palette to match the logo which consisted of very vibrant colors. With this contradicting creative direction, I decided to take my own initiative and present designs with pastel colors in hopes of encouraging them to be more flexible with adjusting the logo colors. They ended up loving them and were glad that I showed them those options. 

From this experience, I widened my skillset in illustration as my past experience has been more specialized in layout design and I learned to be confident in my intuition and not be afraid to be vocal about my professional opinion.
